First, let’s make one thing very clear. The term “battle” originally meant a hostile encounter or engagement between opposing military forces….since we ain’t the military and since hostile encounters are not allowed on the 004 premises, we decided to make our own definition of the word “battle”.

DEFINITION:

004 BATTLE:

pronounced (bat-l); noun, verb

1. A barbeque consisting of good food, drinks, giveaways, and music at the 004 penit (next to the shop). The day consists of a competition between crews, or individuals in a family-friendly atmosphere.

Whether you’re a writer and want to call out another writer on his skills, or if you rap and want to gain recognition within the community, or you’re a b-boy and want a good place to compete against another crew….then a 004 battle sounds like its in your future. All you have to do is call and set the details.
